“More than thirty years behind a camera… that’s the life I chose.”

George Disario got his start thanks to a scholarship to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where he first began to understand how images could move people—and how the right moment, framed with care, could carry more weight than words.

Since then, he has worked on assignments ranging from the sweep of the Asian Olympics in Beijing to the never-setting sun in Finland. He has built and led photography departments at two major corporations, and carved out a freelance life photographing corporate leaders, researchers, engineers, doctors, and everyday people doing honest work.

George has worked with many of the largest high-tech firms and healthcare organizations in the region, from Boston through southern New Hampshire. His portfolio includes corporate campaigns, biotech product launches, hospital advertising, executive portraits, editorial spreads, and book covers. He also photographed inside a COVID ICU during the height of the pandemic, where he witnessed the weight and resolve of real heroes up close.

He has lectured at higher education setting, published two books, taught workshops, and received industry recognition for his work.

He is based in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He is a U.S. Army veteran. His dog, Cody, shares the house—and likely believes he’s in charge. He is a lifetime member of the prestigious, American Society of media photographers. And no, George never parachuted from a plane or shook hands with Elvis, but once, a long time ago, he did share an elevator with Joe DiMaggio.
